I got to the end and realised I hadn't added the soaked dates as the method doesn't exactly specify to add them, it just says mix wet ingredients (I thought that referred to the milk and egg) also I added the yolk to my wet mix and didn't realise further on it was meant to be kept aside for brushing on the scones before baking. Duh! Oops. Chucked it all in the cake mixer on low with dough hook to incorporate dates which worked fine but noticed I needed much more flour to get it to roll out (it as very wet once I added the just soaked dates to the already mixed wet and dry mixture), approved=true, user_name=Eva, hs_createdate=1702249858202, rating_new__1_5_=3, id=11175456795}]}
