As previously said this mix is not quite right very dry and crumbly would not recommend to a beginner baker.

Absolute rubbish, and waste of ingredients. A cup is not an accurate measure for butter in my opinion. The mixture was dry and crumbly; I am very disappointed and cross.... In fact, looking at other reviews, this recipe should be removed from your website. not worth any stars.

Fail no good biscuits were dry and tasteless chucked them out - looking for a better site for recommendations
Dissolve the baking soda in the milk. Place sugar, butter, golden syrup, baking soda (dissolved in milk) on the stove in a medium saucepan. Heat slowly to melt butter, stirring occasionally, then remove from heat. Add flour and sultanas.
Roll into small balls and press with a fork, dipped in flour to help stop mixture sticking.
