Thank goodness I read the reviews before assembling the ingredients! As a result I 2 cups of flour then a smallish scoop at a time till the mixture looked about right. I think this equates to 2.5 cups flour. It was also immensely helpful to be told 1 cup of butter = 225 grams. I ended up with 35 medium size biscuits, and they were delicious!

Your flour amount is way out.. I hadn't read the reviews and had to do a rescue mission by making up another batch of wet to add in (it came out perfect) so needs to be corrected as others have said.. also easier to go by 225g of butter Instead of measuring a cup.
Dissolve the baking soda in the milk. Place sugar, butter, golden syrup, baking soda (dissolved in milk) on the stove in a medium saucepan. Heat slowly to melt butter, stirring occasionally, then remove from heat. Add flour and sultanas.
Roll into small balls and press with a fork, dipped in flour to help stop mixture sticking.
Disappointed as the mixture was far to dry , way to much flour is my thort :(
