Grease a microwave-safe dish (approximately 15cm x 22cm) and line with baking paper.
Place sugar, butter, eggs and vanilla essence in a large bowl and whisk with a fork.
Sift in flour, cocoa powder and baking powder and stir until well combined.
Pour into prepared dish and spread out evenly. Microwave on high for 4-6 minutes, until just set.
Serve warm with cream or ice cream.
