The best way to use up day-old bread, it is worth buying a French loaf a few days ahead so that you can make this for brekkie. Make it dairy free - simply follow the alternatives given.

Quick and easy. Made it this morning, and the family loved it.
Whisk the eggs, milk and cinnamon until well combined. Pour into a shallow dish.
Place oil and butter in a large frying pan on medium heat. Dip a few of the bread slices in the egg mixture, making sure both sides are coated.
Once oil and butter are sizzling, fry the bread on both sides, until golden brown. Drain on a paper towel and keep warm in the oven while you make the rest.
Drizzle with Chelsea Maple Flavoured Syrup or Chelsea Honey Maple Flavoured Syrup and dust with Chelsea Icing Sugar to serve. Add a side of crispy bacon and sliced banana, or other fresh fruit of your choice, if desired.
Optional Garnish with crispy bacon and sliced bananas or fruit of your choice.
