Made this as instructed, gave an extra 30 seconds as wasn't quite sure whether it was done in the middle but don't think I needed to. Either way, absolutely delicious. Took some tips from other reviews and melted the butter first then put extra syrup on after cooking.

Lightly grease a 1 pint pudding bowl. Place syrup in the bottom of pudding basin.
Mix flour, sugar and butter together and then beat in the egg, water and milk until it resembles a thick batter like consistency.
Spoon mixture into pudding basin and cover with plastic wrap.
Cook in the microwave on high for 2 minutes. Take plastic wrap off and cook for a further 2 minutes and then leave to stand for 2 minutes before serving.
Not very saucy and cake was not pudding-like. Better off trying the microwave pudding by taste.
