  • ½ Teaspoon Ground Nutmeg
  • 2 Cups Cornflakes
  • 824g Can Pie Apples

Method

Preheat oven to 180°C.
Combine Chelsea Golden Syrup, butter, preserved ginger and ground nutmeg in a saucepan, bring to the boil, stirring. Reduce heat and simmer for 1 minute.
Remove pan from heat, add cornflakes and stir until cornflakes are well coated with syrup.
Place the pie apples in a buttered pie dish, place the cornflake mixture on top and press down to make a crust.
Bake in a moderate oven (180°C) for 6 minutes or until top is crisp and golden brown. Serve warm with cream or custard.
