Enjoy either a Mini OR Full Factory Tour with Devonshire Tea OR a light lunch at Sugar Café.

This offer is only available:

• Mondays and Tuesdays only (pre-booked and prepaid)

• Minimum of 8 people and a maximum of 18 people (due to train and café seating availability)

Also while visiting you can enjoy the stunning views over the Waitemata Harbour, an educational Interactive Zone and local walks through the Chelsea Estate Heritage Park.

Bus parking is available, please let us know in advance if you require this. Also provided are four mobility parking spaces.

20 minutes, fully guided – Ride on the Chelsea Bay train around the Chelsea Factory site learning about the history and sugar making facts.

You may need to get off the train during the tour if our sugar warehouse is too full to drive into. All passengers must be able to walk un-aided.

One hour, fully guided – ride on the Chelsea Bay train and walk through the factory floor learning how sugar is made plus the rich the history of our iconic site.

All participants on this tour must be able to walk un-aided (no walking sticks permitted) as there are 80 stairs spaced across the factory, up and down.

You can enjoy this before or after your tour in our wonderful Sugar Cafe!

Enjoy a wonderful lunch at Sugar Cafe after your tour, or if you are a large group, while the other group is on tour.

We offer a main meal plus a tea/barista coffee with either tour package.

The meal is a choice of Fish n Chips or Pea and Feta Fritters with salad.

We also have an extensive sweet treat cabinet available if you feel like treating yourself while you visit or take away with you in a box!
